Training Programs

Program #1 (May - Middle of August)

Cost: $400.00 per month

The 2008 Spring/Summer Program #1 is 3.5 months in duration. All the above groups will be training strength, skill and endurance. The amount of training in the components will be based on each players physical strengths and weaknesses. Players will begin by developing a solid foundation of strength and conditioning than progress through various phases of training.    Off-ice shooting, stick handling and core strength will be key elements of the program. As players progress through the weeks they will be challenged with more exercises and begin hockey specific training movements. Speed, power and agility will be a focus in conjunction with the hockey specific training. The program also includes periodic ice sessions. The focus for the on-ice sessions will be skills, skating, scoring and scrimmages. This program also includes various fitness training assessments. All athletes will receive a Player Profile which will include a detailed progress report on their off-season training. There will be approximately 15-19 training sessions per month. Sessions generally are between 1.5-2 hours in length.

Program #2 (May - Middle of August)

Cost: $350.00 per month

The 2008 Spring/Summer Program #2 is 3.5 months in duration. Players in this group will be playing their first or second year of Bantam in the 2008/2009 season. This group will be training hockey skills, strength (mostly body weight) and will have training exposure to anaerobic/aerobic training. Speed, balance, quickness, coordination, flexibility, agility, core and proper training technique will be trained extensively. We want to develop good work ethic, work habits and build individual confidence with players in this category. A major emphasis will be on hockey skill development and educating players on training methods. The program also includes periodic ice sessions. The focus for the on-ice sessions will be skills, skating, scoring, and scrimmages. There will be a few testing and assessment sessions for the players in this group. All athletes will receive a Player Profile which will include a detailed progress report on their off-season training. There will be approximately 10-14 training sessions per month. Sessions for Program #2 are generally 1-1.5 hours in length.

Program #3 (Duration: May - July)

Cost: $150.00 per month

The 2008 Spring/Summer Program #3 is 3 months in duration. The above groups will be training their hockey skills (stick handling and shooting). They will also be exposed to some dry land training components focusing on quickness, balance, coordination and foot speed drills. Program #3 is strictly off-ice. Sessions will be held once a week and are generally between 1.5-2 hours in length.

Program #4 (Duration: May - July)

Cost: $250.00 per month

The 2008 Spring/Summer Program #4 is 3 months in duration. Program #4 is available for females 14 years of age and older. The program is set-up to train females in their specific sport. It is not necessary that you participate in a sport or activity. If you are interested in experiencing some high level training, this might be the program for you. Females will begin by developing a solid foundation in conditioning, core and strength. As they progress, training sessions will become more specific and intense. The program also includes periodic classroom sessions; topics of discussion will focus around nutrition, leadership and wellness. There will be approximately 9 to 11 training sessions per month: sessions are generally between 1.5-2 hours in length.
